Orientation Programme 2026, Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Nāgānanda International Institute of Buddhist Studies (NIIBS).
The Orientation Programme organized by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies of the Nāgānanda International Institute of Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) for the 2026 new intake was successfully held on the 02nd, 03rd, and 05th of April, under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Ven. Dampe Vijithrathana Thero.
Two special guest lectures were conducted for both local and foreign students during this programme. The lecture for students studying in the English medium was delivered by Dr. Rathnasiri Rathnayaka, Senior Lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, on the theme “Buddhism in the Modern Globe.” The lecture for students studying in the Sinhala medium was delivered by Senior Professor Wasantha Priyadarshana, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, on the theme “Buddhism for the Modern World.”
