Faculty of Buddhist Studies of NIIBS was established in 2020 with the sole intention of posturing the major Classical Traditions of Buddhism - Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana worldwide.
Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies established in 2020 belongs to the Faculty of Buddhist Studies of NIIBS. Currently, the department teaches for Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies (General and Special) degrees. The degree consists of four subjects related to Buddhist Studies. They are Pali, Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Culture and Buddhist Management and Communication. The degree is conducted in both Sinhala and English mediums by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, NIIBS.
The department also teaches for Diploma / Certificate courses in Pali and Buddhist Studies conducted by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, NIIBS. Further, the department organizes and conducts special academic discussions, workshops, seminars, webinars, conferences and symposiums.
