Workshop on Preparing Research Papers (Biannual academic program)

The Clinical Counselling Psychotherapy Unit and the Faculty of Buddhist Studies at Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), Bollegala, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, are organizing a workshop on “Preparing Research Papers” on August 6, 2025. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the VIP room, NIIBS Campus.

The resource person is Dr. K R N Harshani (Ph.D, Malaysia), MSc (Kelaniya), BA (Kelaniya), Senior Lecturer at the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kelaniya, and Director of Kālāna Mithuru Sewana (UOK).

Content:

  • Introduction to a Research Paper: Understanding the basic structure and importance of research papers.
  • Method of Preparing an Abstract and Key Elements to Include: Guidelines for writing an abstract and its essential components.
  • Presenting in 15 Minutes aligned with the Abstract of a Research Paper: Techniques for delivering a 15-minute presentation.
  • Training on Presenting an Abstract and Research Paper without Rejection: Strategies to ensure submissions are accepted.

This is part of a biannual academic program held twice a year every six months. It is open to undergraduate, postgraduate counselling students, external academic students, diploma holders, and any other interested individuals. The primary objective is to enhance students’ skills for national and international conferences (how to deliver research paper under national and international level)
