The “Tharana 2023” farewell ceremony, organized by the 2023 student batch of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies at Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies, was held in a grand manner on the 20th of February 2026.
The event was graced by the presence of a distinguished gathering of academic and administrative dignitaries. Among them were the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dean – Faculty of Buddhist Studies Ven. Dr. Dampe Wijitharathana Thero, Ven. Sooriyawewa Sumedha Thero, Assistant Registrar (Exam) Ven. Gurugoda Siriwimala Thero, and Ven. Pelawaththe Rathanasiri Thero, from the academic clergy. Additionally, the ceremony was attended by Assistant Registrar Mr. Chamara Madusanka, Head – Dept. of Practical Buddhism Dr. Kumari Madanayake, Dr. Aditha Dissanayake, Dr. Indra Chandramali, Head – Dept. of Pali & Buddhist Studies, Lecturer Suneth Bandara, Lecturer Samantha Opanayake, and Lecturer Sampath Suranga from the faculty.
This occasion served as a meaningful platform for fostering strong bonds and valuable experiences for the academics of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies.
