A commemorative event in honour of the late Emeritus Prof. Oliver Abeynayake was held recently at Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), organized by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies.
This memorial program, conducted under the theme “Muragala”, was attended by both academic and non-academic staff. The keynote Lecture was delivered by Senior Professor Ven. Induragare Dhammarathana Thera, while Emeritus Professor Asanga Tilakaratne delivered a special lecture highlighting the profound scholarly legacy of Professor Oliver Abeynayake.
The event was graced by the participation of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Ven. Dr. Dampe Vijitharathana Thera and many others. A song composed by Professor Oliver Abeynayake was also performed as a tribute during the program.
